For the 2021/2022 school year: General Information
  • The preschool will be closed on Mondays.
  • Classes will run Tuesday-Friday from 9am-12pm
  • A minimum enrollment of 3 days per week is required.  We feel this is the best way for us to personally interact with each child, allow plenty of guided learning time and also Free Play time.
  • You can add a 4th day option (Fridays) to your schedule if desired.
  • Three days a week schedule will run Tues, Weds, Thurs.
  • Four days a week schedule will run Tues-Friday.
  • Class times will be 9 am-12 pm. You will have the option to add "Lunch Bunch" from 12-1 pm for an additional hour of class time. Lunch Bunch will run from 12-1 pm and lunch must be provided from home.
  • We have an amazing staff of 3 teachers.  Two teachers will work each day with a maximum group size of 10 kids per teacher (total of 20 kids per day).  All of the teachers will interact with all of the students. We divide into small groups for structured activities based on age and ability.
  • Each teacher is in charge of learning stations and the groups move between the stations throughout the course of the day.  Stations include: craft, carpet time, snack time, free play (indoor or outdoor), literacy, math, science, music & movement, among others.
  • The preschool rooms are located in a separate 1000 sq. ft. apartment space located above the garage at Ranell Williamson's home.  The preschool area has its own bathroom and kitchen and 2 classrooms, as well as a large snack area.
  • We have a HUGE selection of toys, books, art supplies, dress ups, learning stations, puzzles, ride-on toys, play structures, etc.
  • All teachers have been CPR Trained, and we are enrolled in the Central Background Registry.  We are all great friends and we've worked together for 4 years. We love being with kids and we offer a nurturing, compassionate, FUN environment.
  • We also provide firm boundaries for behavior expectations and to build social, emotional and educational skills for elementary school.
  • We follow the Sherwood School District calendar for all holidays, days off, inclement weather closures, winter break and spring break, etc.  I will publish a complete school calendar with all the scheduled days off and I always send reminders of upcoming days off of school, so you can plan ahead.
  • Classes will run September - May. Nine monthly payments of tuition will be due. We do not offer classes in June, July, or August and there is no tuition due during these months.
  • A one-time Materials Fee is due with your registration to guarantee your spot.  We will send you an invoice to pay through Quickbooks when we receive your registration form. All tuition payments are required to be paid through our online invoicing system using Quickbooks.  There are no additional fees to use this system and it is a direct bank transfer.
  • OPTIONAL: Tuition paid in full for the school year (received by November 1st, 2021) will receive a 2% discount on the total amount.
  • I will offer a few summer camps (open to the public) for ages 3-6, and preschool families always get priority enrollment and discounts.
  • 10% Sibling Discount for siblings enrolled during the same school year
  • We will do a 'carline' for drop off and pick up so you don't have to park, unload younger siblings, and come in and get your child each day.  We have a large turnaround driveway. We will meet you outside on the large front porch in the morning at drop off, and have the kids all and lined up and ready for pick up time.  This is convenient for you, and quick and easy for us! It also helps build independence for the kids and prepares them for elementary school.
  • Open Door Policy:  ANY TIME you want to come visit, observe, help, etc, you are welcome in the classroom! However, I keep the preschool door locked at all times for safety.  The door has a code lock and you will know the code once your child is enrolled.
  • I don't require any volunteer or 'co-op' hours from parents, other than attending field trips with your child (2-3 times a year).
  • We offer OPTIONAL field trips 2-3 times a year, and a parent or guardian MUST transport and stay with the children for these trips.  Lots of information is provided IN ADVANCE and these trips take place instead of regular class for that day.  Examples are:  pumpkin patch, farm tour, police station, fire station, library, zoo, children’s museum, etc.
  • An optional fee of $25 is offered for a handmade memory binder with photos, art projects and workbook pages that we collect throughout the year and the teachers put together for you.
  • There is a trampoline on the property which preschool kids have limited access to and for which you will be required to sign a release and liability waiver form.
  • There is a hot tub and pool on the property which has a self locking fence and a locking lid.  Ranell Williamson, Lucky Ducks Preschool, and all its employees agree that the pool will always be fully enclosed with a fence and self-closing gate (per county code), and a pool cover which requires a key to open. The pool will not, under any circumstances, EVER be open or accessible during preschool hours and it will ALWAYS be covered and locked.
  • A note from Ranell: I believe in full transparency and honesty.  The safety of the children in my care is ALWAYS my highest priority.   A backyard pool is a known hazard and I want you to have all the information. I understand and completely honor your right to decide what is best for your child.  Basically, if you don’t like the idea of a hot tub and pool onsite, please DO NOT enroll your child at Lucky Ducks Preschool for the upcoming school year.
